Dell SecureWorks Announces New Managed Security Services to Help Enterprises Achieve Improved ROI

ATLANTA-June 11, 2012-Dell SecureWorks, an industry leader in world-class information security services, announces the delivery of several new managed security services for enterprises looking to achieve greater ROI and efficiency on their security infrastructure investments.

Managed Third-Party SIEM Services for Improved ROI

Dell SecureWorks is offering worldwide availability of managed third-party Security Information and Event Monitoring (SIEM) services. This new service offers customers an increase in ROI by helping to reduce the time, complexity and costs associated with deployment and management of a SIEM solution within their security infrastructure. In addition, working with Dell SecureWorks can help reduce the total cost of ownership by consolidating all managed security services into a single provider with trained security expertise on a 24/7 basis.

The service will be delivered based on local delivery or a "follow-the-sun" model for addressing the needs of customers globally and providing improved customer flexibility. Customers will have the option of Dell SecureWorks handling both the management and monitoring of the SIEM platform, or monitoring only. Customers can also decide to maintain the SIEM data at their location.

"Dell SecureWorks has always been flexible and vendor agnostic in order to provide the most appropriate security services to address its customers' needs," said Dan DeRosa, Director, Product Management, Dell SecureWorks. "By expanding our SIEM portfolio of services to include other best-of-breed technologies, in addition to our proprietary SIEM technology and SIM On-Demand service offering, we are providing more options to meet the demands of the market."

Expanding Dell SecureWorks' Managed Web Application Firewall (WAF) Service

Dell SecureWorks is also announcing the availability of a fully managed F5 BIG-IP® Application Security Manager™ (ASM) Web Application Firewall Service. The addition of F5 BIG-IP® ASM expands Dell SecureWorks' WAF services portfolio and demonstrates commitment to market leadership in application security services.

"Working with F5 to include the management of its WAF solution as a part of Dell SecureWorks' application security services offerings deepens Dell's relationship with F5, a leader in networking technology and a Global Preferred Dell Partner," said DeRosa. "We recognized F5 WAF technology as a widely deployed, best-of-breed solution for which we could provide valuable managed service to our customers."

F5 BIG-IP® Application Security Manager™ is a flexible Web application firewall that secures Web applications in traditional, virtual and private cloud environments. BIG-IP ASM helps reduce costs and secure deployed applications against unknown vulnerabilities, and enables compliance for key regulatory mandates-all on a platform that consolidates application delivery with a data center firewall solution, and network and application control. "Our BIG-IP ASM solution is the industry's premier application firewall and F5 is pleased to be a part of Dell SecureWorks' security services offering," said Manny Rivelo, EVP of Security and Strategic Solutions at F5. "With the majority of websites vulnerable to either the OWASP Top 10 threats or flaws in business logic, this service is critical to any organization running and developing applications today. In addition, the solution will help enterprises comply with rapidly expanding regulations, respond quickly to changes in business requirements, and protect vital assets without disruption to their business."
